WHAT IS UTVN?

UTVN, the Union High School TV Network, is a student-run club where any student can get involved in creating content for the school and the district. Members work on a wide range of projects, including producing shows, short films, a podcast, and covering live events like pep rallies, sports games, school performances, and special programs. You don’t need to be in the TV production class to join, so it’s open to any student interested in learning filming, editing, or production skills.

UTVN also collaborates with other programs, clubs, organizations, and schools across the district. Students have opportunities to work with groups like UHS PAC, Men’s Empowerment, Student Council, PTA, and others, helping to produce content that highlights events and projects throughout the district. These partnerships give members real-world experience in teamwork, project management, and media production, while also helping connect students from different programs and schools.

The club meets on Thursdays in the TV studio (B102), where students can take on a variety of roles—behind the camera, on screen, editing footage, producing content, coordinating projects, or even doing sports announcing. UTVN gives members hands-on experience in all aspects of media production and allows them to develop skills in leadership, collaboration, and creative problem-solving.

Being part of UTVN means contributing to school and district-wide storytelling, trying out different creative roles, and connecting with peers across programs and schools. It’s a chance to make media, be part of live events, and help share the stories that make the UHS community unique.
